As the season reached the half way point, the First XI travelled to Ainsdale, looking to get back to winning ways.

The home side won the toss and decided to bat first.

They put on 25 for the first wicket, 38 for the third and 46 for the sixth but the last four wickets went for 1 run and they were all out for 148 in 40 overs. with Daksh Singhvi taking 4 for 24, James Dixon 2 for 43, Michael Kelly 2 for 30 and Tom Spilsbury 2 for 32.

In reply, Haroon Khan (27) and Chris Bellis (21) put on 44 for the first wicket. Paul Horton (13) and Chris Bellis, then, took the score to 71 for the second wicket.

A small collapse followed and at 82 for 6, the winning total looked a little way off. Michael Kelly (26) joined the in form Tom Spilsbury in the middle and they were able to take the score to 137 when the seventh wicket fell. One more wicket fell as Sefton passed the Ainsdale total in 37.1 overs. Tom Spilsbury remained not out on 32.

Sefton move up to sixth in the table


The Second XI played local rivals Wavertree at home.

Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first.

Scott Aitchison (46) held the first half of the Sefton innings together as the struggled to reach 95 for 6.

Pete Ostler then took over scoring 69 not out in 62 balls. He was assisted by Andy Aitchison who scored 19. Sefton batted for 47.5 overs and reached 198 all out.

In reply, Wavertree batted for 43 overs. Sefton had the home team at 100 for 5 but the game drifted to a draw, Wavertree finishing on 179 for 8. Connor Melia finsihed with 4 for 34 and Jack Lavery 2 for 24

Sefton remain ninth in the table.

The Third XI entertained Hightown St Mary's Thirds on the Lower Ground.

Sefton won the toss and elected to field first.

The visitors lost their first wicket without a run being scored and then proceeded to lose them steadily before being dismissed for 55 in 16.3 overs.

Mark Boyns took 2 for 18, Andy Nichol;as 2 for 8, Finn Spragg 3 for 15 and Ronan Brady 2 for 9

Sefton's reply saw Ben Lester being out without scoring but Daniel Cuthbert scored 18 not out and James Whittaker 36 not out as Sefton passed the Hightown total with one wicket down in 8.2 overs

The THirds are third in the table after 12 games.

The Fourths played Wavertree's Thirds at the Liverpool College ground

The home side won the toss and decided to field first.

Neil Lester scored 45, Hamza Maqbol 29, Jack Clements 26 and Chris Mitchell 33 in 34 balls as Sefton declared for 178 for 6 in 45.1 overs.

In raply, Neil Lester took 5 for 20 and Chris Mitchell 2 for 50 but it was another draw against Wavertree for a Sefton Park side with the home side finishing on 156 for 8 in 40 overs.

The Fourths are third in the table.
