The First XI made the short trip to play local rivals Liverpool on a day that all Sefton Park sides were affected by player availability particularly bowlers.

The First XI won the toss and decided to bat first. They batted steadily but were unable to produce the big stand that their innings needed, the best being 38 for the eighth wicket between top scorer Scott Aitchison (37 not out) and Leo Spilsbury (5). Earlier acting skipper Chris Bellis had scored 27 and Pruthvi Krisnamurthy 28. They were eventually dismissed for 135 in 50 overs.

In reply, there were two wickets for Rob Houghton (2 for 23 in 13 overs) who Sefton were delighted to welcome back and two for Pruthvi Krisnamurthy (2 for 26) but Liverpool were able to pass the Sefton total in 34.1 overs with five wickets down.

The Second XI welcomed Formby to Sefton Park. The visitors won the toss and decided to bat first. The took full advantage of this decision, going on to declare on 233 for 4 in 41.4 overs. Jack Thorley took 3 for 109 for Sefton.

In reply, Jack Thorley came in with the score 11 for 4 and was the ninth wicket down with the score on 111. In that time, he scored 72. No other Sefton player reached double figures and they were dismissed for 114 in 36.4 overs.

The Third XI visited Formby, won the toss and decided to field. The home side put on 61 for the first wicket and were 102 for 3 when Pete Elliott joined Dan Shakeel in the bowling attack. Pete Elliott finished with 6 for 20 in 4 overs and Dan Shakeel 2 for 35 as Formby declared on 155 for 9 in 45 overs.

Mike Lowe scored 35 and James Hague 22 for Sefton but they could only reach 102 all out in 43 overs in their reply, so a 53 run defeat.


The fourth defeat of the day came in Birkenhead as Birkenhead Park Fourths played Sefton's Fourths. Sefton won the toss and decided to bat first. Rob Kennedy scored 35 and Rob Parkinson 20 not out as Sefton were dismissed for 131 in 37.3 overs.

Birkenhead Park batted 43.5 overs and passed the Sefton total with 3 wickets down.
